After a welcome break for the Autumn and Festive season we are now looking forward to opening our doors again in February. The paint brushes are out and the rooms are looking re-freshed and ready for the new season.
Outside the autumnal hues are gradually beginning to make way for the warmer spring colours, whilst the lengthening days, low sun and varying weather patterns provide the photographers amongst us with many stunning opportunities to capture the splendour of the Highlands and its wildlife.
The Cuillin Hills on Skye recently had a good dusting of snow which revealed all their crags and contours in marvelous detail.
‘Eric’, the otter was back in the Nostie Bay last week, where we caught him, unaware of our presence, feeding in one of the freshwater channels at low tide and spent many minutes just watching. A welcome treat.
A Christmas addition to Seadrift came in the form of some fly fishing kit, which will be put to full use from the loch shore over the coming months. Big thanks go to Lisa for such an inspired gift.
